Outlook uses wordpad to open attachements I want it to use word

My husband and I use the same computer- different profiles. When I open
attachments that are word documents, the open with word. When my husband
does the same word documents open with wordpad. How can I change this?

Your husband must fix the file type association for the .doc file type.
It's not an Outlook issue. It's a Windows issue. Control Panel's Folder
Options applet.
