Outlook (trial) Creating Mail?

J

John C.

My laptop came with a trial of the usual MS Office apps. After configuring
Outlook I see that the menus for anything having to do with actually
creating or replying to an email is "greyed-out". All else seems to be in
order, Outlook receives mail just fine. Is this a "feature" of the trial?
If so, it seems a strange way to "sell" potential buyers on the product.

Have you activated the trial?

Did you create a profile with an email account? right click on outlook icon
at the top of the Start menu and choose properties or go to Control panel,
mail and view the profile.

I wondered that, but the OP says he's receiving mail OK so he must have
done. Mustn't he?

Thank you for the reply. Yes, activated, expires on Nov. 30th.
I'm gathering from the replies that this isn't normal behavior for the
trial, and that something is amiss.

Forgive me if this appears twice, sent this reply yesterday ~2:00 pm
and it has not appeared in my newsreader yet. Showing in sent items,
though. (Windows Mail)

Thank you for the reply. Yes, there is one profile listed as
"OUTLOOK".
Under the profile, I have configured 2 email accounts. The app
receives
mail from both accounts without any problem. The menu, however, will
not
allow me to select any "create, reply or forward" options. All other
functions
seem to be fine, as well.
