Outlook Toolbars stop responding

Has anyone seen a toolbar on Outlook 2000 that stops
responding when Outlook is minimized or when another
program is brought to the foreground? If so, have you
found a remedy? Odd this is that the message, preview,
and folder list panes are still fully functional and
responding. Just can't use the tool or menu bars.

Your outcmd.dat file may have become corrupted -- it's the file that holds
toolbar customizations. Try renaming your outcmd.dat file to outcmd.old
while Outlook is closed. Outlook will rebuild the default toolbars the next
time you open it. If you customize your toolbars and menus extensively,
make sure to make a backup of the new outcmd.dat file aftrer making your
customizations, so you can restore it if you ever run into the same problem
again.

Note: If you're using Windows 2000 or XP, you'll need to search in hidden
and system folders to find the outcmd.dat file.

Thanks for your reply. I've tried that already and
unfortunately it keep happening. I don't have any
customization of my toolbars. I've reinstalled Outlook
with no avail. I'm running XP Pro with Outlook 2000.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
BW

Have you tried running Detect and Repair?
