Outlook to Exchange Authentication

What is the best practice for non-domain computers to access their exchange account with outlook? Example - A workgroup computer or home computer through a VPN.
How can you have outlook auto-login or remember the users credentials so they dont have to enter their user name, password each time they open outlook?

If the computer is not logged into the network, they'll need to enter their
password. Outlook open with the last used user/domain name filled in.
