Hi all

I want to set a start date for a task but not a due date as some things are
open ended and it is not possible to have a due date.
Tasks won't let me do that.

Can anyone help?

Kind regards

Wab

Tasks will always have a start and end date unless you leave that
information blank. If you think about it, a task with no end date is
actually not a task - it is an ongoing assignment with variables that will
affect when the assignor will consider the assignment complete. Tasks are
usually narrowly defined items such as - make doctor appointment, or set up
family reunion location details.

Thanks Milly although I disagree with you

I use the Tasks part of Outlook at work and open a Task when I need to keep
an eye on something, usually a fault, that has to to passed to an outside
body. I use the task to record notes on the fault so that when I follow it
up I have all the information to hand.
I want to have a Start date on the Task but due to the lack of control I
cannot give a due date or completion date.

If Outlook can't handle that [which it would appear it can't] anyone have
any other suggestions on how this can be done?

Kind regards

Wab

I have several tasks with ending date "none" that I use for the same purpose "wab" wants. I just use the properties as necessary -- setting reminders to remind me when appropriate, categories to categorize, etc. Works well. Wish I could have "subtasks" thread into a dependancy a la MS Project
