I need to put my husband's Outlook task list online and for him to be able to
check them off as he completes them. Does anyone know if and how I can do
this?

Thank you for responding, Diane. Unfortunately, we are not using Exchange
Server (I wish we had it like that), and I have no earthly clue how to write
a web app, much less the time to do it. I was hoping that there would be a
way to publish the task list like I can the calendar. If I could at least do
that, then he could check off completed tasks when he returns.

I do have FrontPage as well. Can you think of a way that the two programs
might cooperatively give me at least an html list of his daily tasks?
Preferably with whatever notes are attached, but not necessarily.

Thanks again,
Summarah

Are you using Exchange server? If not, you'll need to write a web app that
gets the data and publishes it. It'll probably be easiest to use Access as
the backend database.

Frontpage might work - I don't have it anymore and am going from memory, but
I think it might have on odbc option for outlook. Do you have Access? That
definitely can connect to outlook - then you can use it as the db for front
page.

Oh my Access skills definitely need some brushing up, for sure! I do have it.
Maybe I'll tinker with it a little later to see if I can accomplish this.
I'll let you know how it goes. I'll see if the simpler option (odbc in FP) is
available first, of course. Thank you for working through this with me.

Well - FrontPage has a really intuitive database integration tool, but it
needs to be published on a Windows server; ours is UNIX and LINUX. Without
having to pay for a third server (I don't even know if it works, cuz I can't
test it without publishing it to the web), do you have any clue where I can
get like 1MB hosted with asp support for free?

So close ... and yet so far ... =)

No idea how old this list is: http://www.aspfree.com/asp/freeasphost.asp -
you can start there. Or, if you have either windows servers or XP/Vista Pro
versions in-house, you can set up a web server internally to test it. (Vista
Pro doesn't support web-dav so you can't use FP publishing to upload. )

Thank you, Diane! After realizing that I would need to register another
domain to do any of these, I found a link to Office Live Workspace Beta in my
Excel toolbars. So I decided to try that out. It's not integrated with
Outlook, but it does have capabilities to export to Excel.

Anyway, mission accomplished, although not in the method originally set
forth, but this'll work. Hopefully, in the near future I will be able to test
the FP thing, or the need for that will become obsolete. Thank you so much
for working/talking through this with me. I truly appreciate your help.
Really.
