Outlook task open / don't open on single click

Hello, I am using Outlook 2003 SP2. All updates installed

I display tasks in a list. Sometimes when I click on the task, the task
opens. Sometimes when I click on the task, it does no open. I have adjusted
mouse settings fast and slow, etc. I have tried clicking on the text, on the
border lines between tasks, etc. Same behavior.

Any suggestions appreciated,

Reinstalled mouse and keyboard drivers. Seems to have corrected.
