Outlook strange doins!!

I am at a loss! I have lost most of my pst file - can't seem to find out
why. Happened in both my pc and laptop. I've tested the drives, (ran
windiag), i use MS antispyware, Zone Alarm, NAV on the laptop and AVG on the
pc. Can't find any viruses or other problems. Does anyone have any ideas?
The only thing I can think of is possibly an invisible viurs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm at a loss because it's impossible to lose part of a PST. Either you
have your PST or you don't. Why not describe in some detail exactly the
symptoms you see and when, including your account type and Outlook version.

I'm using Outlook 97, windows XP. This afternoon, my suppliers folder in
outlook was reduced to 6 items from well over 100 entries! My client folder
went from 100+ to 2! Earlier, my laptop was doing an Outlook archive and
could not finish.
The laptop has not been connected to the internet for the last 5 days.
