outlook sp2

After updating to sp2 my outlook will not work. Adelphia cable tech said sp2
is junk and to uninstall it.
I did and outlook is back but i have heard the problem is in the sp2
firewall ,any idea what i need to set in the firewll to allow access to
outlook?

No knowing what the problem was before.. No. My Outlook (seveal versions, a
couple in Exchange mode, a few with multiple IMAP and pop accounts on them)
have had no trouble since the upgrade.

Personally, I think the Cable "tech" was just telling you the simple answer
(or feeding off what you were telling him you had recently done) to get you
off the phone instead of working through the trouble with you.

I agree, I am using sp2 and it has had no affect on my
outlook, or any of the office apps for that matter.
Therre are some programs that are listed as having
problems with sp 2 but outlook is NOT one of them.. The
cable tech who said sp2 was 'junk' was an obvious moron.
Sp2 adressed many bugs in xp and has made my system
faster and much more stable. I have not had any
difficulty.

It was my firewall (sygate) still running that caused the problem. Thanks
for the answers once I knew it wasn't
sp2 related I fixed it. Just had a blond moment I guess. Puter is running
fine with sp2 now.
