a few people out there have Outlook RSS add-ins, but for a price. Cant see
why MS couldnt include this in outlook 2003. would be very convenient to read
RSS feds through Outlook at no charge and means i dont have to download yet
another program.

it will never be added to outlook 2003 - time will tell if outlook 12 has it
built in.

hope thats not true, i think MS is missing the boat with this one and
probably will miss the boat with podcasting as well. i have always avoided
using freebie programs and resisted the temptation to use Apple products
(Quick-time etc) but iTunes is a great product with podcasting integrated.
all i want is a simple way to read RSS without having to run another program.

There are several addins available to provide RSS in outlook... and while
they may be 'another program' they use no more resources than outlook would
with an rss engine.

With outlook 2003 2 years old and outlook 12 almost ready for beta, there is
no way they will release a version of outlook 2003 with rss support. Only
maintenance releases (service packs) will be made available for it.

IntraVnews is one of the add-ins you mention. It is now free (again) from
June 25 for personal and charitable use. http://www.intravnews.com/

There is public information that IE 7 will have RSS support so you might yet
see it in Outlook.
