If you don't pay for the premium account, then you can't access Hotmail's
POP server.
You can access your free webmail account with the newer Windows Live Mail.

You don't, unless you have the paid version called Hotmail Plus.
Windows Mail doesn't handle free Hotmail accounts.

I downloaded Outlook Connection from Microsoft and installed it in Outlook.
It set up my hotmail account. I tried sending an email to my hotmail address
from another account and it worked ok.
