When I try to send receive emails I get the error messege 0X8007045A was
working before now this happens. I use the same outlook data file on my
laptop through my home network and it works fine but on my desktop I get the
error.

Any suggestions.

Thanks

Hi Richard,

Sounds like a virus may have damaged your email settings on your
desktop. Download the AVG free scanner and run it over your machine.

Hope that helps.

Could you be a bit more specific in your configuration?
Version of Outlook?

Connecting to a pst-file over a network is not recommended nor supported by
Microsoft. Do things work correctly when you use a local pst-file?

You're being way too cryptic here. What exactly do you mean with the above?
Note that we cannot look over your shoulder. If you you don't elaborate it
is impossible to help.

Two things that come to mind;
-if you have a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook, disable this
integration and try again.
-try it again with a new mail profile. For this see;

Tried turning off virus scan got same error.
Set up new profile same error.

My feeling is that it is not the pst file because I use that same file when
I use my outlook on my laptop and can get my email fine. On my desktop I get
the error when I use that same pst file.
The pst file is stored on my desktop where I have the problem.

You get this error when Outlook on your laptop is closed?
You also got this error when with a clean mail profile without any link to
your original pst-file or your laptop?

Have you verified your firewall settings already?
Note that turning off your virus scanner is not the same as disabling its
integration with Outlook. See the documentation of your virus scanner on how
to do that properly.

Roady thanks for the help. Still getting the error have made sure my virus
scanner was off still get the error.
