Outlook Send issue

I keep getting a message "some errors occurred while trying..." and the
message stays in the outbox even though it was actually sent. Further, it
keeps resending to recipients on each refresh cycle, though it continues to
stay in the outbox until manually deleted and never does get into the sent
folder
Any ideas?

Disable e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is causing
timeouts with the mail host.
