Outlook search folders don't refresh

In Outlook 2003 SP1 I have created a search folder to display all messages
I've received in the last 7 days. This folder does not keep itself refreshed.
In order to refresh it I have to open the "Customize this Search Folder..."
dialog box and then click OK (without making any changes). The folder then
refreshes.

I also have a search folder to display last week's mail. Everything I've
read says search folders are supposed to be automatically and continuously
refreshed. Why aren't mine?
