Outlook Reminders

Can you have a reminder set on your calendar but not have it displayed? Some
days I have several reminders and my calendar will look cluttered. Can you
have the calendar only show appointments and not reminders?
 
What kind of reminders? Have you considered using Tasks or Flags on items
that need reminders?
