Outlook Error 0x800CC0F

I have searched the knowledge base and every resource available. I am
running Norton but this error occurs even if the scan incoming e-mails is
turned off, and even if the whole firewall and norton system is turned off.

Outlook stops receiving all messages and any account that follows that
account. The only workaround I have at the moment is to get my POP service
provider to delete all irrelevant messages and then I can receive again, this
appears to be due to malformed message headers, but does not return the
malformed error code 0x800CC97,

Any assistance greatly received, I also have tried contacting the Microsoft
tech support via e-mail but their engine says that my product ID is not
supported for that country? It was purchased in that country, It was
reinstalled in a different country (Due to a HDD failure), any ideas on this
one either

this is usually because of something 3rd party. unfortunately even if you
disable norton it still blocks it. Try clean booting (start-run and type
msconfig). Depending upon your operating system you will want to disable 3rd
party services and start up items. Restart the computer and see if that
works. if not the next step I would recommend is uninstall anti-virus and
firewall software temporarily.

Remember not to leave yourself in a selective start up. I am 90% sure this
will solve it for you

Jon,
Thanks for the speedy reply, I am pretty sure that it is a third party
problem, namely Norton Internet Security, but removing this leaves my PC open
to spyware, virus etc, I am here because this is my last resort, no one seems
to have a solution to this problem, which costs me valuable time. NIS is the
best security software in my opinion but there are problems with the
interaction between the two systems. It is time the two companies worked
together to solve a problem rather than just blaming each others software.

Hi,
please also read microsoft article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;813514

You can disable the Antivirus programm in Outlook,Addins that does not take
effect of the rest of your computer.
Please try it, and let us now, if this solve your problem!

While not connected to the Internet (so you're safe), uninstall Norton and
reinstall with no mail integration features. Reconnect to the net. You'll
be just as protected even without mail scanning.
