Outlook programming

Does Outlook allow you to write any advanced programming laguages to
customize it's bahaviour? C++? VB? Do I need to write a whole DLL and
plug it in somewhere or is there somewhere I can write VB code to be
interpreted run-time?
I want to create a task view that merges the contents of n folders.
 
Outlook supports automation, you can use just about any language that
supports automation, including VBA. See www.outlookcode.com for lots of
information about programming Outlook.
