Outlook Preview Pane

Can anyone tell me how to change the default setting for the preview pane in
outlook mail folders? I would also like to disable the preview pane menu
option.

You can launch Outlook with the preview pane turned off in all your folders
by using the /nopreview switch, but as far as totally disabling the option
to show it, I'm not sure. You may find an answer in .outlook.general or
..outlook.programs_addins.
