Hi
I am confused! I have downloaded the Outlook connecter and managed to
configure to get my homeil emails to show in outlook. At the bottom the
connecter says it is offline as does outlook on the right at the bottom.
When I open outlook it tells me it cannot log on. I click ok and it opens
with my emails present.
Ultimately I want to use outlook with access db (to create db with my
teaching hours and stuff) and Im having problems with that too.
I am using Vista Ultimate and Office 2007 Ultimate.
There is obviously more than one problem here but I dont know where to start.
Can you help please?
Thanks
Ani

did you convert the hotmail acct to a live mail acct? did you take outlook
online (File menu)? If you lok at the server status (connector toolbar in
the lower right) what does it say?

exactly what are you trying to do with access and where are you running into
trouble?

Hi Diane
After trying to configure outlook and it freezing on me I managed to go into
settings to reset it. I downloaded the connector and then I started outlook,
I went through the set up wizard and it logged on and downloaded my hotmail
inbox. I am still receiving my hotmail emails but in the botom right hand
corner it says 'offline' ((when you click on this there is not an option to
change to online). When I click 'get data' in the microsoft access 'events'
template, an error message appears stating outlook cannot be opened, is not
logged on, I think its something to do with the 'exchange'. I am working on
a lap top on a wireless connection, I have tried it on my pc desktop over the
same wireless connection and it works. I think I may have set the
configuration bits up incorrectly on my laptop.
I dont know what you mean by 'convert the hotmail aact to a live mail acct'.
I am confused about the exchange server and what that means, I am using my
computers from home through normal broadband connections.
Many thanks in advance for any advise, I feel like a bit of a dumbo but I am
keen to learn!
Ani
