Outlook not closed properly

P

Peter Bauer

Hi

I have the problem that it seems that outlook 2002 doesn't close
properly and if I start an other time, a .pst check start.
This check runs between 10 and 15 minutes and for users who have more
than 2 or 3 pst files, they must wait for 30 to 45 minutes.

I have tried scanpst.exe and didn't find erors in the file !

But this happens always if outlook is starting ... this is horrible

Have anyone an clue/tip or answer to resolve this problem ?

Bye
Peter

Are your users closing Outlook before they shutdown their computers?

Yes, this is the normal behavior that a user close his programms and
then shotdown the machine.

I don't know. You mean if the outlook process in taskmanager is not
running ?

In case if the process is running, what can I do to

1.) see which process keep the connection open to outlook ?
2.) how can I resolve this issue

Thanks for your answer
Peter

First see if it an example of overly quick shutdowns. Outlook will some
times take 30-60 seconds to completely shutdown

Is it possible to speed up the shutdown process ?

Not really, Outlook is shutting down itself and some background processes.
