Outlook need to be able to rename emails for easier archiving

I want to be able to rename emails for archiving in Outlook - I belong to an
email group (to do with my profession) and often emails all have same title
(thread name) but some have info that I want to save and be able to retrieve
based on the information that they actually contain which sometime is quite
different to the email title. Now I have to actually open the email to find
the piece of info I am after - if I could rename it I could use the search
facility or manually search via the saved title which relates to the info.

Open the item, click in the Subject field and edit. Hit ESC and save the
item. The subject doesn't look editable but it is.
