I have a new Dell Axim with Windows Mobile 5.0 which has Outlook 2002 on it.
I also have a notebook with Outlook 2003.

On my notebook, I can make an appointment with a contact for any time in the
calendar without inviting or e-mailing the contact.

On my Axim, I can't make an appointment with a contact in the calendar
without inviting the contact and e-mailing the contact. Am I doing something
wrong? Do I need something else to make it happen? Am I missing something?

Too much data - Too little time.

Thanks

How are you doing it on the notebook? If you add them as an attendee outlook
will send an invite.

In my notebook I
1. Go to the contact and right click with my mouse on the contact.
2. scroll down to 'New Appointment with Contact'
3. and schedule the meeting with the contact then hit save and close.

This does not send an e-mail to the contact but keeps a record of my
appointment with the contact. I believe I can then look at the contact a
week from now and see that I had an appointment with that contact and see any
other notes I made with that contact.

That method still works in Outlook 2003 - it's actually only associating a
contact with the appointment - adding it to the contact field on the
appointment form. I'm not familiar with the axim, so I don't know if it can
associate contacts with appointments or only do meeting requests. Assuming
my ipaq is the same (should be) you can only do meeting requests and invite
attendees on the ppc. My only suggestion is to add a note about who it's
with and after syncing, add the contact to the contact field within Outlook
2003.
