Outlook.exe Process Continues to Run After Closing Outlook

I'm running Mobile 5.0 on a Dell Axim X50 with Active Sync 4.1. I do sync my
contacts and calendar via Outlook 2003 SP2, but I'm not syncing any messages.
When I close Outlook, Active Sync keeps Outlook.exe process open and this
continues to POP my messages from my ISP. Thus, when I'm remote and try to
use webmail, the messages have already downloaded to Outlook. Is there a way
to stop this from occuring? I know that removing the Dell Axim will work or
manually stopping Active Sync.

Thanks.

Disconnect the PDA before closing Outlook, or stop the Activesync service.
It's most likely the problem.
