outlook missing item under inbox

Hi there, wondered if anyone can help. I have outlook 2003 installed and am
missing an item in the inbox. I have no filters set and have run the clean
views switch and also ran a search to no avail. The inbox shows that I have 3
items but the counter at the base bar shows reads 4 items.

The counter in the status bar shows the total number of items in the folder.
The count in the Folders list shows the number of unread items. Thus, your
Inbox contains four items, three of which are unread. Make sure your View
is set to "Messages", not "Unread Messages".

This issue is still a problem, I have checked the views as advised but this
is not the problem.
