Outlook meeting time problem

M

Mark Zander

User A sends User B a meeting request for Thursday at 2:00pm til
4:00pm. User B accepts. The problem is that the meeting shows up on
user B's calendar at 1-3. One hour behind. It shows up on User A's
calendar at the correct time from 2-4. I checked all the time
settings in the OS and Outlook on both computers and they are correct.

The only difference is that User A has Windows NT and User B has
Windows XP. I try the same test from another user's computer who has
NT. Same problem.

When the XP user sends a meeting request to the other XP user the time
shows up in both of their calendars correctly. Can I assume the
problem is between the OS's NT and XP? And if so, how do I correct
it. Thanks.

I have a similar issue. I have at least 3 (at least I've only heard
from 3) users where only SOME of their appointments are showing up 1
hour later than what they're supposed to be. Both the system clock and
the Outlook Calendar options are set to the correct time & time zone,
and to automatically adjust for daylight savings. 2 uses have brand
new PCs running Windows XP and Office 2003. The 3rd user is running
Windows 2000 with Office 2000 (Pro).

Any help would be greatly appreciated (the Win2000 user is my CEO!!)

We are also having this problem in our office. We thought
that it may have something to do with the recent rollout
of Office 2003, including Outlook 2003, to almost all of
our users who are running either WinXP or Win2000. Then,
it seemed to be that if users running WinXP created a
meeting request, only other users running WinXP had the
meeting appear in their calendars at the correct time; the
time in Win2000 users calendars was off by an hour. We've
tested some more and, unfortunately, seem to have
disproved this theory.

What version of Exchange are you running? We are on 5.5 and I am
wondering if that is may be the problem.

M.Y.

Same problem here too. We're using Exchange 5.5 too.
I think Microft needs to resolve this issue & they
need to realize that the XP Service Pack 3 recently
release DOES NOT resolve this issue.

We are running Exchange 5.5 in a Windows 2003 AD
environment with an Exchange 2003 server in the Exchange
5.5 site. Over 98% of our mailboxes and all of our public
folders are still on the 5.5 server.

Yesterday, I sent an e-mail to all of our 400+ users and
asked them to make sure the DST adjustment was turned on
for their PCs and their Outlook calendars. I also asked
them to reboot their computers because most of them had
not been rebooted since prior to the DST change. I can't
confirm what effect these two things had on the situation,
but we seem to have fewer time discrepancies today.
However, I don't consider the case closed.
