Outlook Mail not working

I posted this question earlier in the Install & Configure group, but the only
response I got was from someone else having a similar problem.

I have recently upgraded from Win2k to WinXP Pro and also from Office 2k to
Office 2k3. Up to yesterday, my Outlook was working perfectly. However, this
morning, it refused to send email. When edit my email configuration and
select the "Test Account Settings" button, it responds by saying:-
"Sending test email message: unable to send test Message. Please verify the
E-mail address field".

When I check the noted field, it is correct and has NOT changed since I
first installed Outlook2003. The only change in my system since yesterday was
the update to WinXP for July.

Can anyone here point me in the right direction for resolving this issue,
please?

Chris,

I think you need to re-create the account.
Make a note of the settings
Remove the account and add the account as POP3
Then you should be able to send mails

Sunilmanuel,

I have now sorted this issue. I re-booted the PC, and as if by magic, the
issue was resolved. I still do not know what caused it. If it returns, I may
decide to go back to Win2k on that PC.
