Outlook locking up

I'm having an issue with Outlook 2003 as an exchange client. Outlook opens
and connects to the Exchange client without any errors. When closing the
Outlook window closes but the outlook.exe is still running. The only way to
completely close Outlook is to end the process in task manager. This is also
the only way to open Outlook again.

How can I get Outlook to close completely without having to end the process?

Thank you.

I had this problem with Outlook 2003 and finally fixed it by not using the
"empty deleted items folder upon exiting" option. As soon as I enable that
option my outlook won't close. Hope that helps.

I believe if you are using Cached Exchange Mode and are connected, it might
take a minute to end. How much time are you giving it? Also, do you have any
Personal/Archive Folders loaded in the profile?
