Outlook keeps trying to send a message that doesn't exist

I seem to have a ghost message in the outbox.

The message is sending from an account which cannot send from my cox.net ISP.

Outbox shows no messages to be sent, yet every time I pick up mail, it
attempts to send something from the "(e-mail address removed)" account.

I even deleted the email address from my email accounts, but it still
attempts to send.

It would appear that there is some kind of file corruption somewhere in the
outbox or send functions because I have one other problem that repeats itself
constantly. Occasionally when I send an Email it will get a date of "none".
No amount of editing results in a date stamp on the item and I have to delete
the item to get rid of it.

Help!

Hi, Patti. When this happens to me, I hit the File menu and choose Work
Offline. Because of that, Outlook stops trying to send it. I can now delete
it. Don't forget to uncheck Work Offline again!
