Outlook keeps sending to the Wrong Address

P

Peter M

Friend sent us a Cell phone Text but the e-mail dress was wrong, they then sent us a
e-mail with the correct address.

I deleted the wrong address from the address book, but when we reply to this e-mail it
picks up the wrong address, and then also ads it back to the address book.

So how can I totally remove this Wrong address.

Running XP Home and IE8 RC1 latest.

Thanks

Just to check, which version of Outlook are you using?

You can change the To address while you're composing the reply if it's wrong
in the original email item

When you reply to an email the reply will be addressed to whatever the
sender had in their From: field. Whatever you do on your end this will not
change that.

For example, say my email address was (e-mail address removed), but I
accidentally typed (e-mail address removed) when I configured Outlook. I send
you a message telling you I have a new email address.

After the fact I find out from folks that none of their replies are getting
to me, and correct the problem in my Outlook. I then send you an email
telling you of my mistake and ask you to update your address book with the
proper address.

However, if you ever reply to that first email I sent you it's going to go
to (e-mail address removed), as that's the From: address of the email you're
replying to. If you replied to my second email it would go to the proper
address.

Is this the behavior you're experiencing? If so, I'd just delete that first
email.

The other thing could be if you're not selecting the address from your
address book and instead are typing the address and it's autocompleting to
the wrong address, you can just delete that one entry (when you see it start
to autocomplete, use the arrow key down to select it and then press the
Delete key on the keyboard).

What is wrong is the Reply Address, not the sending address, I am trying to get the poster
to fix it..

Outlook is replying to the reply address not the sending address..
