Outlook/Hotmail sends 16 copies when I attach a file

Using Outlook to drive Hotmail Live, simple emails work fine but recently
when I attach a file, addressees get up to 16 copies of the email. Outlook
'send' file reports only one copy but Hotmail 'send' file shows all 16 copies
having been sent. Is it something I have done or is it a bug.
I am getting the same problem on both my XP machine and on Vista.
 
Usually this is caused by your virus scanner that integrates with Outlook.
Disable this integration and try again.
