When I attempt to delete email, either one at a time or many at a time, and request that I be warned before permanently deleting items Outlook 2002 hangs. When I don't request notification, Outlook deletes fine and doesn't hang.
I have reinstalled Office XP and reinstalled all of the fixes. I recently changed from the classic Windows view to the XP view.
When I go to the task manager and stop the Outlook that way, I get a message that states that the program is waiting for a response from me. I would happily respond, but the message box that warns me that I am about to permanently delete the emails never appears. When I reboot, the problem goes away, but only the first time I delete email and answer ok to the warning. Then the problem returns.
Can anyone offer a solution?
I am using XP Pro and Office XP. Could this be an Office problem? The other programs seem to work fine.
The source of the email doesn't make any difference. The error occurs when I attempt to delete emails I received through my Earthlink account or my IMail account.
Thanks.
