Outlook forgets password

From time to time outlook will continually prompt for a
passwork to send and receive mail, even though
the "remember password" box is checked. This has
happened in 2000, 2002 and now 2003. I can't find any
information in the knowledgebase. Thanks for any
recommendations on how to fix this.
