outlook 'find' bug????

B

bbxrider

been deleting all my spam unopened
then i wanted to segregate all the spam in one spot and delete it all at
once
so
1.selected delete folder
2. selected find/advanced
3. again selected delete folder
4. filtered to find only 'unread'
however the 'found' list contained all my unread email, not just from the
delete folder
and sure enough when i edit/select all/delete for all the 'found' email all
my unopened email
was deleted, not just the email in the delete folder
so,
is this a bug, or do i need to do advanced find differently if i want the
target of the find to be one folder
only

where did you select the deleted folder the second time?

why not just empty the deleted folder of al deleted messages?

the advanced find applet has a box at the top right where you can browse for
and then select a folder
i'm not sure but it sure looks like its there so you can narrow the find to
specific folders only, i'm hoping to get
a confirmation of that, it would make a lot of sense to have that
functionality
i just want to keep my deleted mail, perhaps it is a habit from being a
lifelong programmer, its incredible how many times
you need something from the past, however i don't want to clog up my history
with unopened spam and i don't want to have
to delete it twice and one by one
by the way, what does MVP stand for????

Create a folder called 'old messages' or something like that a file away the
ones you think you'll need later. Only put trash in the trash...

no matter what folder you put unopened mail in, it always finds all the
unopened and deletes them all
