In my favorites folder, I keep getting a "links" folder.
I delete it, but after I reboot or return to IE, it's back again. Can it be
removed permanently, or at least hidden??
Thanks
Barry/Austex

The "Links" folder cannot be deleted. You can delete the contents and
replace them with whatever you want, or nothing at all but, the folder will
always return.

Why try and remove it? It's particularly handy on your web-page for your
frequently used URLs (after you enable it in IE Taskbar Options).

It may be handy for you.........I just don't want it.
Thanks anyway!!!

Well, try this (back up the registry first)

Start>Run>Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

Modify/Create the Value Data Type(s) and Value Name(s) as detailed below.

Data Type: REG_SZ [String Value] // Value Name: LinksFolderName

Value Data: [Set the String Value to a blank string]

Open Internet Explorer and manually delete the Links folder from Favorites
Menu.

Exit Registry and Reboot
