I have outlook express on my old computer. Am attempting to set up my Windows
mail, got all the information in, and when it asks for my password to the
outlook account, I type it in and it tells me that I am wrong. How do I find
out what it has listed as my password???????

With difficulty, if at all. It might be easier to check what Outlook
Express
has as a password, and make sure you've copied it correctly.

Also, Outlook and Outlook Express are different programs. You can run
version 2003 and more recent of Outlook under Vista, and with a few
problems, version 2002. Outlook Express won't run under Vista.

Try entering your username with no CAPITAL LETTERS, and both with
and without it followed by the part of your email address starting with @.
Make sure your password has CAPITAL and lowercase letters in the
correct places. Some email servers are picky about such details of your
username and password.

Click on Tools, then Accounts, then your email account, then Properties,
then Servers. Windows Mail often has the quirk of forgetting the
password if you click on Apply after putting a check mark in front of
Remember password. Try removing this check mark, then clicking at
the end of the dots for your password, backspacing over them,
entering the correct password and any approvals needed, then clicking
Apply, then putting the check mark back in front of Remember
password, NOT clicking Apply, clicking OK, then Close.

What do you mean by "password to the outlook account"?
All Windows Mail needs is the server names & settings for your existing
email account, plus the username and password to access that account.
Has nothing to do with Outlook.
