I am trying to open emal attachments and it states that there is no file
associated with it for performing this action. Creat an association in the
Folders Options control panel. Need Help

It's sort of a bug in SP2 when using 3rd party media players. You are
talking about a media attachment aren't you? Open Windows media player,
click tools, options and file types. click the select all button. Close
media player and then go to your email and try to open the attachment.
 
Not sure if this answers your question but windows is just saying "i
don't know what program uses this file type so you tell me!" its a
generic response. If it was a music file then follow the instructions
above. if not, send an email to whoever sent it to you and ask them
what program they use. Then you can get theat and open up your file.
