HELP!!
Outlook Express has invaded my E-mail.
A relative sent me a E-mail with a link to a web site.
Ever since, I've not been able to open an attachment
without first going through OE.
I don't use OE for my mail, nor do I wish to.
Sometimes I can't open the attachment and I get a
message which saya "OE removed access to the following
unsafe attachments in your mail".
How do I make this go away??
I have already un-installed OE from my programs list.

You can open a Windows explorer window, and go to Tools...
Folder Options...File Types, and fix the associations (for example
web links in e-mail are file type "(None)" for
URL:Hypertext Transfer Protocol.

Alternatively, just do a reinstall or repair on whatever you
are using as a mail client to get the associations restored.

If you are using XP you also have the choice of doing a system
restore back to a point where this worked correctly. Whether this
is a good idea depends on what else has changed in the meantime.

I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention that in this age of phishing,
clicking on e-mail links is a bad idea.
