Outlook Express Wab inport failures

After the great crash of 2003 I re-installed XP-Pro on a
new HDD and slaved my old HDD. Most everything transfered
over well. Old os has issues in Remote internet
connections area and didn't want to transfer bad things
fron old OS. When it came to OE I wanted my address book
and tried to import it from the old HDD in OE. Each
attempt says an error occured. I went to the knowledge
base and found an article addressing the issue and found
info about version mismatches but this is not the case
here. Both versions are 6.0 with windows updates applied
to both. If I boot up from the old HDD I can see the
address book but if I look at OE from the new drive
(looking at wab.exe on old drive) I see no address book
entries. How in the world can I get those entries
transfered over short of writting them all down and re-
entering them?

If you have OE running on the new HDD, you will have an Address Book (e.g.,
TomWright.wab). Wab.exe is the application named Address Book;
TomWright.wab is the Address Book. (Semantics...)

Note that both WAB and DBX files are by default hidden files in WinXP. To
view these files in Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders
under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options | View.

Have you tried using WinXP's FAST wizard to import the WAB file? Is the old
WAB file "hidden"? ...Read Only?
