Outlook Express Sent Items Folder

I have one account with dial-up and when I send email it also puts a copy of
my email in the Sent Items folder. I setup a broadband account and now when
I send email - no longer puts a copy of my email in the Sent Items folder.
Can anyone tell me how to setup outlook express to copy email to my Sent
Items folder using broadband. Or what might be causing my email not to copy
my sent email messages to the Sent Items folder.

In Outlook Express, go to Tools > Options...

On the Send tab at the top, choose the top option "Save copy of sent
messages in the 'Sent Items' Folder"

First - how is the account setup?
POP3, IMAP or HTTP?

Second - is the checkbox for "Save copy of Sent Messages in the 'Sent Items'
Folder" checked?

1a. Move anything you want to keep that's currently in Sent Items folder to
another local OE folder you've created for archiving messages.

1b. Compact all OE folders:
http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm#compact

2. Tools > Options > Maintenance > Store folder will reveal the location of
your current Identity's store
(http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm#storemain). Write it down.

In WindowsXP, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as
hidden. To view these files in Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files
and Folders under Start > Control Panel > Folder Options > View.

3. Close OE.

4. In Windows Explorer, navigate to your store (#2 above), find and delete
Sent Items.dbx.

Avoid Such Corruption in Future:

- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.

- Empty Deleted Items folder daily.

- Disable Background Compacting [N/A in SP2] and frequently perform a manual
compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at
http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/files/maintain.htm.

- WinXP SP2 only: Do not shut down your machine while Windows is
automatically compacting your message store.

- Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause such
corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.

CC to yourself works.
