Outlook Express rules not working

Doug

I am trying to get Outlook Express to filter out spam that includes the
words "FreeTreasures4uDaily". I created a rule that looks for this in the
body of the message and deletes it from the server and then from the Inbox.
But it never works unless I select the rule and then click "Apply Now." Then
it does its job. I get this same problem with other rules, but not all of
them. The phrase is not part of an image file. Can anyone help? I'm also
using Spam Inspector, but it never catches these messages.

Thanks for your help.

For help with your OE questions, try an OE newsgroup such as

microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress (for OE 6), or

an OE help website such as http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com. If you're

accessing the Microsoft newsgroups through the MS Product Support

Services "Community Newsgroups" web interface, click

http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=InternetExplorer

to get to the Internet Explorer groups, then click the plus sign next to

your version of IE to see the link to the Outlook Express group for that

version number. Good luck!

Hi Doug,

Change the rule. Try it this way instead, as your email server may not
support deleting from the server. Create the rule as follows:

In the first block:
"Where the message body contains specific words"
(where "specific" is the phrase you wish to key on)

In the second block:
"Delete it"
"Mark it as read"
"Stop processing more rules"

This will move it automatically to the deleted items folder.
