Outlook Express removing access to attachments

As a new user of Outlook Express and XP I am becoming
increasingly frustrated because I can not understand why
OE removes access to attachments I know are safe and from
reliable sources.

Can anyone tell me where to go/what to do to prevent this
happening?

You're posting in the wrong place 'cos this is for Outlook, part of the MS
Office suite. OE is part of Internet Explorer.

However, just go to something like Tools/Options I believe and select the
Security tab. Alter the setiings there to allow access. That should work,
but it's a lonf time since I used OE.

In your time of increasing frustration, did you think to read the Help
files? As for why Microsoft feels the need to block access to potentially
dangerous files can be seen in my Antivirus scanner - hundreds of infected
messages a day sent to my publicly known addresses. When end-users can't
exhibit some self-control, someone has to take control... and until all ISPs
refuse to deliver mail with infected attachments, blocking end-users from
easily opening attachments is the next best thing.

Now to answer your question... hit forward, then save the attachment :)

It's a new security feature to prevent accidental opening of viruses, either
by yourself or scripting. you can disable it in tools | options | security,
but I think the extra effort to hit forward is safer and well worth the
extra click.

hi Dave,
is there any chance to do the same thing with MS Outlook 2002. In Tools -
Options under tab Security I have only Secure Content and Zone (Internet &
Restricted Sites), and Secure E-mail
