Jay Stevens

I have SBC and have been getting some spam recently for the first time since
I started with them, ca 4 years.

I was wandering if it's possible to let OE only retrieve messages that are
in my inbox?

When I log onto my server the spam has always gone into my Bulk folder so if
I could bypass the bulk folder and only get messages from my inbox, I
wouldn't have to get these email on my computer and could just log on to SBC
and delete them from there every so often.

Thanks

Jay

Have you checked here:

I'm using BT Yahoo. It has Spamguard. Does this exist in
your SBC Yahoo arrangements?

Yes, I did take a look.
It's got a few but most are very limited ways to fight against spam.
They got it right. All my spam goes into the bulk folder but OE retrieves
messages from bulk as well as inbox.
That's why I wandered if I could set OE to only retrieve messages that are
in the inbox.

Thanks

Looks like you may have missed an option in Spamguard. The last
item on the Spam Filter page ( Extract 1 ) is a link to take you to a
page where you get alternative options for downloading new
messages. You need to check the first not the second alternative
( Extract 2 ).

EXTRACT 1
Spam Filter
SpamGuard Plus is ON [Turn SpamGuard Plus OFF - Reset Filter - What's this?]
For messages SpamGuard Plus identifies as Spam:
Save these messages in the Bulk Folder for 1 week2 weeks1 month
More Bulk Folder options for POP users

EXTRACT 2
When downloading new messages:
I don't want to receive any messages that SpamGuard thinks are spam

I want to receive all messages, including those that SpamGuard thinks are
spam

For messages that SpamGuard thinks are spam, add [Bulk] as a prefix to the
subject
Learn more about these options - View POP Settings

You need to scan the Bulk Messages Folder regularly as Spamguard
does not work perfectly. It lets Spam into your Inbox and puts good
messages into the Bulk folder.

I have a few messages Outlook Express Messages Rules moving incoming
mail to user created folders so that nearly all remaining messages in my
Outlook Express Inbox are spam getting through Spamguard.
