Outlook Express messages sent while being written

In Tools>>Options>>Send I have no tick in 'Send messages immediately',
yet they still vanish when half written. Can anyone help with this
problem? My husband is also using Outlook Express 6 with Windows XP on
his laptop and our settings are the same, but he doesn't have this
problem. Could it be to do with the registry and if so which is the
best registry cleaner to use? Or could it be something else? I would
be very grateful for help with this.

PS: I have ZoneAlarm with Anti Virus.

What is General/Check for new messages every xx minutes set for?

If you mistakenly type the keyboard combination ALT+S, your message is sent,
Liz. Be a little more careful when typing or check to make sure the ALT key
isn't sticking.
