Outlook Express Major Error, How to Reinstall? PLEASE hELP

I desperately need to get my outlook express 6 installed and working again. I
don't know why it stopped working, had lots of driver faults at same time.

The errors Im' getting are: OE could not be started. Unable to open the OE
message store. Your computer may be out of memory or disk full.
then "MSOE.dll could not be initialised. OE may not be installed correctly!"

My disk space and memory are fine and it's been working ok since SP2 upgrade.

I have Service Pack 2 and Explorer 6 still works, but for the life of me I
can't find anywhere to redownload outlook express. It seems I need to
reinstall SP2 but have no idea how to get that downloaded again as Windows
Update won't allow for it.

Any clues?

Hi

Try this:

Open Windows Explorer and go to the windows\inf folder. Find the msoe50.inf
file, right click on it and select Install.

Nice try, it seemed to start installing, asked for the location of loads of
files which I was finding for it, but in the end it didn't help. Clicking
Outlook Express brought up same error files.
THanks anyway. I really need to reinstall it fully I guess but see my next
post for why that's proving difficult.!

Thanks for the links, but these all point to the same problem which as I
already have SP2 installed can't seem to be reinstalled, as windows update is
only way to the get the software. so I'm going to try uninstalling SP2 and
reiinstalling it again.
fingers crossed that might work!

Yes that is tricky but can be done. Were you able to point to the correct location for each query? That's important. I did this a few weeks ago and was able to point to the correct location for all but it wasn't fun.

Oh you want to reinstall Windows XP SP2? I really don't think that is going to help here. You need to reinstall
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and follow those articles on how to do it in Windows XP. Will's suggestion is even
better but then you got to know where all those files are.
