Outlook Express has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Starting first boot up of my computer this morning, my Outlook Express 6 program has been crashing within about 20 seconds of launching it. The program searches for and delivers mail to my inbox or folders, but within seconds, I get the error message as seen in the subject line: Outlook Express has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on may be lost (with certainly is the case here). Please tell Microsoft about this problem. (which I have done at least 50 times today).

I have scanned for viruses (none), updated the software (it was nearly all updated already) and still I have the problem. Can anyone give me some help with this? Thanks!

I've had this same problem several times, I use the procedure below to
correct it. I would first find you .dbx files and back them up. After
deleting your current identity you will have to setup OE again using the
wizard, make sure to know your account information. I have had problems
importing the .dbx files after the procedure but I just copy them to the new
user.

Hope this helps

<ANSWER>
Open regedit to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{your
GUID}
and delete that identity.
Do a find for *.DBX after enabling
viewing of hidden files.
Use OE File menu, to Import them after starting
OE.
