Hello:

I have placed sound in the background of many emails on my other computer,
but I just installed this new computer and I can not insert sound so it will
play in the background of email that I send.

I can select the file, for example .mid and insert it, but it will not play
on my computer or on the recipients computer.

I have Windows XP Pro and Microsoft Office 2003 installed.

I select Format, Background, Sound, file type .mid and the file... and even
though I select it the sound will not play?

Is there something I should be specifying somewhere to "activate" this
option/feature? I don't recall having to do it in the past?

Thanks so very much for your time and consideration,

Patrick

But your subject says Outlook EXPRESS.......which are you using, Outlook
2003 or Outlook EXPRESS?

Gordon:

Sorry for the confusion... I use Outlook Express and also have Internet
Explorer 7 installed. I was just trying to provide info about my system.

And yes, it's involves Outlook Express... and I have been able to insert
sound in the background of email on my other computers, but not this one. I
can play the sound on Windows Media Player on this computer, but when I try
to place it in the background, it appears to accept it, but it will not play,
nor can the recipient hear the sound?

Thanks for your patience,

Patrick

Then, this newsgroup is for support of Outlook
97/98/2000/2002/2003/2007 from the Office suite of products. Outlook
Express is actually a separate program despite the similar name.

For help with your OE questions, try an OE newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress (for OE 6), or
an OE help website such as http://insideOE.tomsterdam.com. If you're
accessing the Microsoft newsgroups through the MS Product Support

Good luck!

Thank you...
