outlook express error

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'work', Server:
'mail.sbcglobal.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

this is the error message i get when i open OE6. i see my messages and can
open one then the message window comes up. sure would greatly appreciate any
help someone out there could give me. thanks in advance.

This newsgroup discusses Outlook.
Outlook EXPRESS is not Outlook.
Outlook EXPRESS has its own newsgroups.
