Outlook Express error

I get the following message when attempting to use the reply function. I can
rewrite the message taking the email address from the address file but I
seem not to be able to use the reply button:
"The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by
the server. The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'.
Subject 'Re: from dad', Account: 'pop.earthlink.net (2)', Server:
'smtpauth.earthlink.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 Please
configure your mail client to use authentication.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL):
No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79"
