Just downloaded the updates for windows and now when I
open Outlook Express I get this message:

Your 'Inbox' folder was not polled for its unread count.
The server has refused the connection.
Account: 'imap.uncg.edu', Server: 'imap.uncg.edu',
Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: 'IMAP server internal
error: can't read mailboxes file', Port: 143, Secure
(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCCD9

Is this related to the updates or is it just my server?
Thanks.

0x800CCCD9 IMAP CONNECTION REFUSED Connection not allowed.

The error is coming from the IMAP server, Christen. Most likely cause:
"This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" option is not selected.
Has this IMAP account ever worked in OE? Check with UNC/Greensboro's tech
support and see
http://csv.uncg.edu/csv/public/docs/apps/outlook/outlookxpress.html (Section
10).

Thanks. It's working now--it's always worked before, I
thought maybe I didn't read my windows updates carefully
enough and had screwed something up. Thanks again.
