Outlook express Email Spell Check

In OE since installing the latest update, Spell Check on Emails has been
disabled. Was working fine before last week. Now, I receive an error message
"An error occured while spelling was being checked" followed by a second
message" Spell check halted, do you want to send anyway.

I understand the relationship between Office/Word and the Spell Check... My
question is why did the feature suddenly stop working and how can I restore
this function?

HELP, Please...
